Start: 9th
Finish: 19th

Chris Buescher had his Cup-career best qualifying effort at Sonoma Raceway this weekend, starting 9th for the first road course race of the season. Buescher ran his No. 37 Kingsford car as high as first, but pit strategies and tire fall-off on the long run forced Buescher to the back of the pack. He was able to salvage the day with another Top-20 finish, his seventh of the season.

CHRIS BUESCHER QUOTES:
"It was probably not the day that we were hoping for," Buescher said. "But I'm really proud of all the work our team put in to this No. 37 Kingsford Chevrolet throughout the weekend. We had decent speed, and got our best qualifying start for today's race, but the pit strategy just cycled us through. We had to pit late to give us another chance at a top finish with fresher tires, and some guys were able to hold out on fuel mileage which shuffled us back. We head to Daytona (International Speedway) next weekend, which started out as a really good weekend for us in February, so I'm hoping for some of the same speed there and to hopefully stay out of trouble this time."
