PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY POST-RACE REPORT

AJ Allmendinger fought having no power steering and a tight-handling No. 47 Fry's ClickList Chevrolet to finish 26th at Phoenix International Raceway Sunday afternoon.
“We kept working on our No. 47 Fry's ClickList Chevy and we were just tight overall during the race,” Allmendinger said. “We couldn’t quite get it to turn in the middle and I couldn’t get going on restarts. We would lose a lot of track position on the restarts. The crew never gave up and kept working on it, but we could never find the right balance. We had a really good long run where the car felt the best it had been. Then we tried to pump the tires up to get going on the next restart and that didn’t help the way we had hoped. We’ll keep giving it our all and get a handle on it. It’s been a tough couple of weeks, but we will get it turned around. I just want to thank all our sponsors for coming out and supporting us each and every weekend."
“We’ve got Fontana (Auto Club Speedway) this week,” Allmendinger continued. “It’s a track I enjoy and we’ve ran well at before. It’s four or five lanes wide. It will be some great racing there. We’re hoping to turn our luck around there.”
