Race: Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500
  Date/ Time: Sunday,  November 15th / 2:30 PM ET
TV / Radio: NBC  / MRN / SIRIUSXM

  TEAM QUOTES:
Phoenix:  “I know they  don’t consider Phoenix International Raceway a short track, but I always feel  like it is,” Allmendinger said. “Even though it is a one-mile low-banked track,  I just think of it as a short track. We’ve been fast there in the past, but I  feel like we have struggled in qualifying and that has kind of hurt us. Other  than that, it is a place that we race well at. We haven’t got the finishes we  have deserved, but we hope to change that this weekend and have some momentum  going into the season-finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.”

Primary sponsors: “We’ve got  Fry’s and Clorox on the hood of our No. 47 Chevy this weekend,” Allmendinger  said. “On Thursday, I’ll be stopping by the Fry’s Goodyear location (16380 W  Yuma Rd, Goodyear, AZ 85338) not far from the track to sign autograph for fans  (5:30 PM to 7 PM). We do have an awesome platform to meet our fans thanks to  The Kroger Company. So, stop in Fry’s to hang out with me before you pick up  all your tailgating supplies. We’ll have a good time.”

Finishing strong: “I  look at what we were able to do at Martinsville (Speedway) and we want to do  the same at Phoenix, which is keep it in a small box,” Allmendinger said. “We  unloaded solid, qualified third, led some laps and had a respectable finish. We  want to finish out these last couple of races strong to build on next year.”

Test: “We were able to test at Phoenix mid-October,” Allmendinger said. “So, that’s a  positive and I’m hoping we learned something from the test that we can go back  with, unload well and have a really good race car on Sunday. Since they repaved  it, I feel like we’ve been pretty decent there.”
Last  time out at Phoenix: “When we were at Phoenix  in the spring, we had some hurdles to overcome,” crew chief Brian Burns said.  “We had a really good car and Phoenix is a track where we seem to  fare well at historically, but we had a mechanical problem that set us  back and forced us to drop to the rear of the field before the green flag. AJ  did a great job of driving through the field and we were running just  outside the top 10 when we faced another challenge as our jack man/pit crew  coach (Mike Klein) went down with a calf injury. We ended up finishing 17th  when it was all said and done.”

Making improvements: “The Texas (Motor Speedway) race gave us a little boost of morale even though  we did not finish as high as we should, but we know we are making gains,” Burns  said. “We feel like we’ve made some improvements for next year. Heading into  Phoenix, we are better than we were there in the spring and we want to showcase  that.”

Ahead of the game: “Last week was a busy week because we were getting ready for both Texas and  Phoenix so we were set to switch things out when the race was over  Sunday,” Burns said. “This week is not as hectic and we can focus on a game  plan for the weekend and not have to worry about the busy work.”

Good direction: “It’s always good to finish the season on a strong note,” Burns said. “It will  help us with the start of next season and it gives us a good direction of what  we need to work on in the off season.”

Chassis: “We are bringing chassis 522, which was our Charlotte (Motor Speedway) car,”  Burns said. “It had good speed and we’ve made a lot of improvements to it for  this weekend. Phoenix is a good track for us. So, we are looking forward to  this weekend.”
