RACE: Duck Commander 500
DATE/TIME: Saturday, April 9th
TV/RADIO: FOX / PRN / SIRIUSXM
AJ Allmendinger finished 22nd with his No. 47 Kroger/BUSH'S Beans Chevrolet SS in the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. He is currently 15th in the driver points standings after completing race number seven of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season.
“It was a tough night,” Allmendinger said. “Not one specific area, we could make it really tight or we could make it really loose or make it do both. Just about three or four laps on the tires, it would just chew them up and that was about it. We never really got it on the good side. It was just tough to drive. We kind of missed it all weekend, but I didn’t think we’d be that bad in the race - - where we were not very good. We’ll look hard at this weekend and figure out where we kind of missed it. We’ve got a good track coming up for us this week. Bristol (Motor Speedway) is a track we’ve ran well at in the past and we look to rebound from this weekend.”
“It was a long night for the No. 47 Kroger/BUSH’S Beans Chevy team,” crew chief Randall Burnett said. “We just missed the setup a little bit tonight. We had to fight all night long. We made some pretty big adjustments. AJ did a really good job hanging in there. We tried to make the best of it. We missed it a little, but we will go to Bristol and get them this week.”
