AJ Allmendinger at Atlanta Motor Speedway:
AJ Allmendinger flirted with the top 10 and eventually brought home a 14th-place finish in the 54th Annual Advocare 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway Sunday evening. The 325-lap event was won by Kyle Busch by a 0.740 seconds margin of victory over Joey Logano. There were 28 lead changes among 13 drivers and nine caution flags for 47 laps.
Allmendinger sported a "Win My Car" decal on the hood of his No. 47 Toyota at AMS. Scott brand and JTG Daugherty Racing announced Friday they have teamed up to offer one lucky person a one-of-a-kind ride of a lifetime with its ‘Win My Car’ Sweepstakes, part of the Scott Shared Values program. The sweepstakes, which runs Sept. 1 through Nov. 30, 2013, will award one grand-prize winner the choice between the ultimate NASCAR fan memorabilia — Allmendinger’s actual No. 47 Scott Products race car or the best-selling car in America, a 2013 Toyota Camry. The Scott brand will also be giving consumers the opportunity to gas up their vehicles by awarding $100 gift cards to 90 winners over 90 days.
To enter, participants can visit ScottBrand.com to sign up for the Scott Shared Values program. Existing Shared Values members can enter by going to the homepage. Entry is limited to one per day.
JTG DAUGHERTY RACING QUOTES:
"Overall, the No. 47 SCOTT Products Toyota was pretty good," Allmendinger said. "It was just tough track conditions. We were going back and forth between tight and loose conditions. I thought we did a good job of keeping the car in a small box and kind of stayed up on the changes. I thought on the longer runs we were pretty decent.
"We had a 10th-place car at best," continued Allmendinger. "We just got too tight at the end initially on that run. It is tough to tell because those guys took tires. We were running ninth and stayed out. When you are ninth coming into pit, you are kind of in trouble either way. Maybe tires would have helped to get us a couple spots. Overall, the car was good all weekend. We made progress on it. At least we are closer and racing with the bigger guys out there now."
"I'm proud of the team," JTG Daugherty Racing co-owner Tad Geschickter said. "We brought a brand new car to Atlanta Motor Speedway. We have taken everything we have learned from Toyota and the wind tunnel and put it into this car. This has been our best performance on a mile-and-a-half to date. AJ did a great job of communicating with us all weekend. We were flirting with a top-10 finish, but we are definitely gaining on it."

TAILGATER OF THE WEEK:
This week Lucy helped draw the attention of the JTG Daugherty Racing Tailgate Patrol. Lucy is a Labrador that was hanging out at Kristine Mitchell's campsite at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
"We have been coming to Atlanta for 10 years with our family and friends," Mitchell said. "We grill out here a lot and our favorite thing is brats and chicken wings. We also eat BUSH'S Beans. We love Duke and we have got our own dog - Lucy - with us. She was a rookie last year and now she's a professional at tailgating."
In addition to watching the race, Mitchell and her guests kept their eyes on football.
"In addition to watching the races, we will be watching football and I'm a Georgia Bulldogs fan," Mitchell said. "Being here at the track is a lot of fun. We like coming to AMS. It is close to home. We had a big party planned Sunday with about 60 people. We like playing games and doing a low country boil before the race."
