AJ Allmendinger eyes a top-16 Playoff position during his 11th full-time season in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series racing the No. 47 Kroger ClickList Chevrolet SS fielded by JTG Daugherty Racing.
Kicking off his 300th career start during the Daytona 500 in February, Allmendinger is primed to top his two top-five, nine top-10 and 15 top-15 finishes en route to finishing 19th in the points standings with crew chief Randall Burnett at the helm last season. His best 2016 finish was second at Martinsville Speedway in the spring, giving winner Kyle Busch a run for his money (margin of victory 0.663 seconds).
Allmendinger’s first full year with JTG Daugherty Racing in 2014 was a memorable one. The San Jose, Calif.-native delivered the team’s first-ever Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory at Watkins Glen International (8/10/14), a Chase berth and highest driver points finish (13th). Today, Allmendinger’s goal is to have his best season to date behind the wheel of the No. 47 Kroger ClickList Chevrolet SS.
